Do you know what Democracy is? It's us! If we don't know what's going on, if we don't know how our government works, then we forfeit our political power to other people -- who may or may not share our interests. Democracy is only as strong and healthy as our awareness and involvement in it. Government is a good example that if we are not AT the table, then our interests will be ON the table.
Laws reveal the values and ideals of a society, as well as the standards for how people treat one other. Since laws are so important in our lives, do you know how an idea becomes a law? How easy or hard is it to make a law? How are differences of opinion handled when making a law? It's time to find out! Logan Pitts is a Senior Field Representative and Senior Legislative Aide for California State Senator Bill Dodd. As chair of the City of Santa Rosa Board of Community Services, he exemplifies civic participation. He is an alumnus of Sonoma State University. He has been active in numerous political campaigns within Sonoma County and beyond. Mr. Pitts has a talent for distilling complex problems into easily understandable concepts
