Subject: Acton ALert:Demand Congress Reject Cuts to Vital Services
From: League of Women Voters of Sonoma County

This week the United States Congress is moving forward with “One Big Beautiful Bill”—but this bill is far from beautiful. This is an ugly and dangerous bill that is bad for America. It will strip health care and food access from millions of Americans to offset massive tax cuts for corporations and wealthy Americans. If they pass it, Congress will endanger the health of our country.
The legislation is full of cuts to vital programs like Medicaid and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This will hurt the most vulnerable populations of our country — veterans, single parents, seniors, people with disabilities, and children —the exact people we should be protecting.
Things are moving fast; the Senate is crafting its final bill through an on-floor amendment process, and then the House will need to come back to vote on it later this week.
There’s still time to make our voices heard! As we head toward Independence Day, let Congress know we oppose them stripping Americans of the vital services needed to survive. It is time to say no to the “One Big Beautiful bill”.
