Since 2018, the LWV’s High School In-Classroom Voter Education & Voter Registration Program has been helping high school seniors understand the relationship between the voting process and their everyday lives. Our program ignites students’ interest in democracy and civic engagement and registers or pre-registers all eligible students to vote.
In the Fall 2024 semester, LWV members spoke to over 1600 students and registered or pre-registered more than more than 700 of them.
Feedback from teachers is very positive.
“The League of Women Voters of Sonoma County do a great job engaging with my high school students and helping them register to vote. I utilize some of their resources throughout the year and students really appreciate how helpful the League members are with the voter registration process. I highly recommend this non-partisan group to appear in classes throughout Sonoma County!”
